The UK’s pretty seaside towns in one of the most affordable places to rent | United Kingdom | News
New data has revealed beautiful seaside towns in a region of the UK ranked among the most affordable places to rent.
The Office for National Statistics has published a list of local authorities in England and Wales and shows how much of a privately rented household’s income goes towards rent on average.
North Lincolnshire, in the East Midlands, was the most affordable place in the 2022/23 financial year (18.8%).
But we can’t really say that it is on the coast, but rather on the edge of the river because it is downstream of the Humber. The second most affordable place was Stoke-on-Trent, in the West Midlands (19.1%).
It’s more or less a slap in the face of the country. Copeland, in the northwest of England, comes third (19.1%).
This district of Cumbria is located near the Lake District and contains an array of pretty seaside settlements, including Lowca, Whitehaven, St. Bees, Nethertown, Sellafield, Seascale, Silecroft, Annaside, Hyton and Haverigg.
The Irish Sea is close by, as is the Isle of Man which is not far away.
