Shooting at laundromat leaves 1 dead, 3 injured

One person was killed and three others injured, including the suspected shooter, in a shooting at an Indiana laundromat, police said.

The incident occurred Thursday around 7:41 p.m., when a Lafayette Police Department officer responded to reports of a shooting at the Lafayette Laundry, located at 3100 South St., and found four individuals shot upon arrival, according to a press release from Lafayette police.

The names of those involved in the incident have not yet been released, but police said one man was confirmed dead, another man was in critical condition, a third man was now in stable condition and the last person shot, a woman. , is currently in stable condition following the shooting.

“Investigators believe the shooter is among those injured,” authorities said. “There is no ongoing threat to the public and all parties involved have been accounted for.”

Authorities are currently establishing a motive and reviewing the events leading up to the shooting, according to their statement.

Meanwhile, roads around the laundromat have been closed as police continue their investigation, officials said.
