Reckless e-scooter rider risks life during Darragh storm | United Kingdom | News
In a stunning display, a daredevil electric scooter rider was filmed braving a perilous journey along the Aston Expressway in Birmingham during the violent throes of Storm Darragh.
As the town suffered the wrath of 60 mph winds, the individual was seen driving down the road at 10 mph.
Wearing a long black coat and balaclava, the motorcyclist casually traveled down the center lane of the highway in dark and stormy conditions.
The stunning images were captured by blog Birmz Is Grime on Saturday December 7.
It was the same day tragedy struck Birmingham after a man was killed when a tree collapsed on his car.
Reactions on social media ranged from astonishment to humor, with one observer joking: “How the hell did he stay on that in that wind?”
Others couldn’t help but make superhero comparisons, joking: “The budget also hit Batman hard… reduced to a scooter,” and “His Batmobile was repossessed.”
Another asked: “Is Darth Vader heading downtown for Christmas dress-up?”
The video, which went viral, racked up thousands of views as social media users watched with a mixture of shock and bemusement at the dangerous stunt.
West Midlands Police have been contacted for comment.
