Donald Trump named “Person of the Year” by Time magazine
President-elect Donald Trump has been named Time magazine’s 2024 Person of the Year, it was announced Thursday.
THE reporting includes an interview with Trump, in which he discusses immigration, abortion and his new administration.
He reiterated that one of his first actions after being sworn in will be to pardon most of those imprisoned in connection with the attack on the Capitol by a pro-Trump mob on January 6, 2021.
“I’m going to be interested in J6 from the beginning, maybe for the first nine minutes,” he told the magazine.

Trump has been repeatedly pressed to grant clemency to all rioters, including those convicted of violent crimes.
“Well, we’re going to look at each individual case, and we’re going to do it very quickly, and it’s going to start within the first hour of me taking office,” he said. “And a large majority of them should not be in prison. A large majority should not be in prison, and they have suffered grievously.”
