Aldi shoppers fume as supermarket confirms removal of two popular biscuits | United Kingdom | News

Aldi shoppers are in turmoil as the budget supermarket axed two beloved biscuit varieties. Outraged customers expressed their dismay on social media, questioning the disappearance of Belmont Coconut Rings and Chocolate Rich Tea cookies from store shelves.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one user wrote: “Aldi, where have they gone? My fiance loves them and was going to get 50 packs for his 50th birthday in 3 weeks, he went to 3 stores and none on the shelves “Please help me.”

Aldi’s response also brought no comfort, with the retailer commenting: “I’m so sorry but this product has been discontinued. We hope your fiance finds an alternative packet to fall in love with.”

Adding to the biscuit blues, another customer asked: “Aldi, have you stopped selling rich chocolate tea biscuits?” Unfortunately, they too received confirmation that this product had reached its end.

According to LancsLiveAldi responded similarly: “We can see this product has been discontinued. We are sorry for any disappointment.”

These biscuits join the list of items that Aldi has recently removed from sale, including the Vegan Blonde Moser Roth chocolate bar, once celebrated by fans as ‘the best ever’. Village Bakery’s Medium Sliced Seed Bread also disappeared, leaving one customer insisting on social media: “Please plead with me for its return.” »

In response, the company said it would see “what it could do.” Aldi has previously restocked discontinued items, including its Elkes Sports Shortcake which hit shelves again in January this year.

The cookies, depicting images of different sporting activities, were a classic for children growing up in the 80s, before being discontinued a few years ago.
