Aldi applies the “two per person” rule in all stores from December 27 | United Kingdom | News
Aldi is introducing a strict ‘two per person’ rule across all its UK stores from next week. From December 27 to 31, Aldi is implementing a policy limiting customers to just two bottles of a new sought-after drink per person.
Over the course of five days, the price of Aldi’s famous Crémant De Loire sparkling wine will drop from £8.99 to just £4.99. This significant reduction means shoppers can get two bottles for a total of just £9.98 – perfect timing for the end of Christmas and New Year festivities.
Aldi is applying this new purchasing cap to ensure fair access to supply in the context of expected festive shopping surges. This champagne is expected to stir up a storm among buyers due to its staggering 44% discount.
After being dubbed “the steal of the season” by famed wine critic Jane MacQuitty of The Times, the supermarket chain is bracing for an extraordinary rush of customers eager to take the product home. Part of Aldi’s latest autumn-winter selection, the specially selected Crémant de Loire has been acclaimed for its delicious blend of ‘mouth-watering, creamy, honey-flecked fruit, quince and golden apple’.
By capping purchases at two bottles, Aldi aims to spread joy, allowing more people to indulge in the charm of this sparkling Crémant as they welcome the new year, according to Aldi executives, report Launches live.
Julie Ashfield, general purchasing director at budget supermarket giant Aldi UK, highlighted its commitment to affordable celebrations, saying: “We want everyone to be able to have a glass of quality wine this festive period, without ruin yourself. By dropping the price of our exquisite Crémant De Loire to just £4.99 and introducing a two bottle limit, we are ensuring that more customers can experience this exceptional sparkling wine at an incredible price.
Ahead of the December 27 markdown, Aldi is also reducing prices on more than 60 selections from its specially curated wine range by up to 25% until New Year’s Eve.
