A home invasion shooting leaves his son dead and his mother in critical condition; suspect at large
A mother is in critical condition and her son is dead after they were both shot during a home invasion in an upscale Philadelphia suburb over the weekend, officials said.
The mother and son were attacked at their home in Lower Merion Township at 2:20 a.m. Sunday, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office said.
The suspect is on the run and has not been identified, a prosecutor’s office official told ABC News.
Police are seeking information about a car and its driver, who they believe fled authorities in the area of the home invasion.

The victims’ green 2004 Jeep Cherokee, which was stolen during the home invasion, was found Sunday in West Philadelphia, the DA’s office official said.
It’s unclear whether anything other than the Jeep was stolen from the house, the official said.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the killer, authorities said.
