The Latest: Police question Pennsylvania man in killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO
Man with gun that appears to be similar to one used in UnitedHealthcare killing Brian Thompson, CEO was placed in police custody Monday for questioning in Pennsylvania, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press.
Thompson was killed Wednesday in what police called a “brazen and targeted” attack as he walked to a hotel in New York.

The man also had a gun that appears to be similar to the one used in the killing, the official said.
Police apprehended the man after receiving a tip that he had been spotted at a McDonald’s near Altoona, Pennsylvania, about 375 kilometers west of New York, said the official, who was not not authorized to discuss details of the investigation and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.
In addition to the weapon, police found a silencer and fake ID cards, according to the official.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is expected to address the development at an afternoon press briefing in Manhattan.
While still seeking to identify the suspect, the FBI has offered a $50,000 reward to obtain information leading to his arrest and conviction. This is in addition to a $10,000 reward offered by the New York Police Department.
This included footage of the attack, as well as advance footage of someone at a Starbucks.
Photos taken in the lobby of a hostel on Manhattan’s Upper West Side showed the person smiling after removing their mask, police said.
NYPD dogs and divers returned to New York’s Central Park today as the dragnet for Thompson’s Murderer extended over a sixth day.
Investigators have combed the park since Wednesday’s shooting and searched at least one of its ponds for three days, looking for evidence that may have been dumped there.
Police say the shooter used a 9mm pistol that resembles the weapons farmers use to slaughter animals without causing a sound. Police said they have yet to find the gun itself.
Ammunition found near Thompson’s body carried the words “delay”, “refuse” and “deposit”, imitating an expression used by insurance industry reviews.
