UK’s best restaurants named by Uber Eats as they battle for top prize | United Kingdom | News

As the cold sets in, eating a cheeky takeaway is becoming more common for some and with the fifth annual Uber Eats Cravings report, an insight into the UK’s most popular food delivery request is revealed.

This brand new list of the 12 best restaurants has been revealed and the finalists are vying for the ultimate title of Restaurant of the Year.

The popular food delivery platform has around 890,000 restaurants on its records, but among them, 130 from the UK and Ireland are the most popular.

The number of finalists was then narrowed down to 12, with the task of finding the ultimate restaurant falling to Great British Menu host Andi Oliver and street food connoisseur and last year’s winner Kieran Monlouis , Josh Kleiner of Sandwich Sandwich.

And it looks like burger restaurants are definitely the most popular food, with three impressive restaurants making the top 12.

Of the top three burgers, Junglees in London proved to be a favorite thanks to its popular £10.99 smash burger.

Meanwhile, fried chicken outlets have also been very successful, with two selected in Whitechapel, Liverpool and Nottingham.

Nashville Cluck’s irresistible £8.49 crispy buttermilk fillets were a big factor in the fried chicken craze.

The winner of the coveted title will be crowned in London on November 14 with the number one restaurant of the year taking home a cool £100,000 prize to be used to help invest in their business.

Vying for the title and serving delicious Anglo-Indian classics, Soho Tavern, a Birmingham gastropub, made the list.

The popular pub located on Park Road features a cozy interior with a gastro pub ambiance with mouth-watering meals, with dishes such as Butter Chicken for £11.25 or Chilli Chips for £5.50 – all can be enjoyed while watching a live sports match.

Another Indian restaurant making the top 12 is Urban Tandoor in Clifton, Bristol, a favorite among Bristol residents thanks to its range of authentic curries.

Portsmouth’s Natty’s Jerk Shack also made a delicious appearance on the list, with Caribbean soul food lovers choosing this spot to enjoy some of the best Jamaican cuisine with a modern twist.

A Scottish favorite was also included with Salt and Oriental Chilli found in Glasgow making the top 12.

In Ireland, the most succulent chips were found at Locke Burger in central Limerick, with customers’ favorite home fries and its luxurious £10.45 bacon and cheese burger also a favorite.

As for sweet treats, Belfast’s Mackles ice cream parlor received an honorary nod.

Northern Ireland’s ice cream haven is selling irresistible £6 sundaes along with other popular sweet favorites including the Strawberry Shortcake, Happy Hipp and Lotus Lover.

“A big congratulations to all of our regional finalists,” said Matthew Price, general manager of Uber Eats UK, Ireland and Northern Europe.

“The caliber of businesses participating in our Restaurant of the Year awards continues to grow.

“I look forward to welcoming all the teams to the awards in November and hearing more about their journey as a small catering business.”
