There are currently huge delays on the M6 ​​in Lancashire after a “serious accident”.

An article on National Highways states: “Following a serious collision on the M6 ​​southbound in Lancashire, a full closure has been implemented from J32 near Galgate to allow emergency services to work at the scene.

“North West Air Ambulances are currently en route and it is anticipated that the northbound carriageway will be closed upon their arrival to allow them to land.

“A number of National Road Traffic officers have been dispatched and are en route to assist Lancashire Police, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service in their response to this collision.”

Lancashire Police said one man was “seriously injured” and taken to hospital, while four other people at the scene were also injured and received treatment.
