Farmer takes brilliant revenge on dumper truck that dumped piles of tyres | UK | News
A farmer, regularly targeted by fly-tipping, has taken revenge on a man who dumped around 2.7 tonnes of waste on his land.
Stuart Baldwin, 60, is no stranger to unwanted fly-tipping, but the discovery of more than 400 tyres abandoned on his site in Haydock, Merseyside, prompted him to take matters into his own hands.
Thanks to video surveillance installed on the site, which is affected by fly-tipping around 25 times a year, the breeder was able to identify the culprit thanks to Facebook.
In a defiant gesture, Mr. Baldwin returned the trash directly to the culprit, dumping hundreds of tires in front of his residential home.
Standing in front of the pile of rubbish on his land, Mr Baldwin said: “Someone dumped these tyres here overnight. Luckily we found out who left them.”
“So we’re going to bring them back to the person who dropped them off here.”
In the following clip, Mr. Baldwin encourages a large blue dump truck as it dumps hundreds of tires onto the dump truck’s doorstep.
Before taking such drastic measures, Mr. Baldwin tried to reason with the perpetrator, agreeing on a deadline for the dump to remove the tires from its land.
He previously told the MailOnline: “He came and said he was going to move them, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and a few days’ respite – but he never moved them.”
He added: “You can take your waste to the dump for free. I don’t see the logic in this practice, it’s just ignorant, to be honest.”
As the truck’s tires slammed into the sidewalk, Mr. Baldwin applauded and described the scene as “fantastic” between bursts of laughter.
Speaking about fly-tipping, he added: “That’s what they get.”
