Canadian ‘stranded’ in Cotswolds and reactions are brilliant | UK | News

A hilarious Canadian TikToker recalls how he got ‘stranded’ in the Cotswolds after his train was cancelled.

Matt Giffen, who has 195,000 followers, took to TikTok to explain how he was “currently stuck” in Moreton-in-Marsh, a historic town in the pretty Evenlode Valley.

Matt had visited Cotswolds Farm Park and had come to Moreton-in-Marsh to catch a train back to London.

However, the Canadian experienced a typically British situation when he heard the terrible news that his train was cancelled.

The TikToker hilariously explained what happened, saying: “We got here and the train got cancelled and the next one isn’t for a few hours so we’re just stuck here in Moreton.

“To be honest, there are much worse places to be stuck. This place is really beautiful, man.”

In response, thousands of Britons rushed to react with brilliant comments.

@Username1 said: “There are about eight pubs in Moreton-in-Marsh that are not blocked off, this is an opportunity.”

While @Itsjustbrighton added: “At least you get the full UK experience with the cancelled trains.”

“When you first told me I was stranded I was like ‘oh no!’ And then you told me I was going to have to wait a few hours for my train and I was in the city,” @firefly.605 said.

Although he was “stuck”, Matt seemed quite attracted to the town.

He said: “I feel like in a few years when I retire I’m going to move to a place like this. Like the English suburbs, you know what I mean.”

The Tiktoker continued: “The history here is crazy man, the buildings, look at the cars. I need to get lost in places like this more often.”

“It’s an honest question if you live in England: are you impressed by places like this, by the atmosphere there? Or are you just used to it because a lot of places in the UK are like this?”

In response, @swootmanmagic said: “In a few years when you retire! We have to keep going until we die, what are you doing retiring so young?”

“Yes, it’s beautiful. We’re very lucky, but we don’t always appreciate it,” said @LindsayClarke.

While Sarahsargent286 said: “Always impressed by the beauty and history of England.”
