Biden withdraws from 2024 presidential race
President Joe Biden is dropping out of the race for the 2024 presidential nomination after a shaky debate performance against Donald Trump that prompted questions from Democrats about his age, his ability to run his campaign and his ability to serve a second term.
Biden said in a statement released Sunday that he would “step aside.”
“I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country that I step aside and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term,” he wrote.
