26 people treated for ammonia exposure after gas leak at Virginia commercial building: authorities

Twenty-six patients were transported to area hospitals late Wednesday night for ammonia exposure after a leak at a commercial building in Sterling, Virginia.

Around 8:36 p.m., Loudoun County firefighters responded to the 22400 block of Sous Vide Lane in Sterling for reports of a gas leak. Authorities later confirmed the leak was ammonia.

A representative for Cuisine Soultions Inc. told ABC News that employees were immediately relocated outside the plant and the leak was contained.

According to authorities, four of the 26 patients had significant symptoms.
