2024 Presidential Election Updates: Presidential Candidates Battle for Battlegrounds
Governor Tim Walz addressed the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) convention in Boston on Wednesday, saying the Democratic ticket was the one that would fight for their freedoms, including worker protections.
“People say to me, ‘Look, I’m not really interested in politics.’ My response is, ‘Oh well, you’re interested in politics,'” Walz told an audience he acknowledged was bipartisan.
Walz said Harris is “proudly part of the most pro-union administration in history” and that when they “win this election, we will support you as you supported us.”

“We believe that you, not politicians, should be free to make your own choices about health care,” Walz concluded. “We believe that workers deserve to collectively bargain for fair wages and safe working conditions.”
